Hello everyone,

I hope you’re having a fantastic summer and have had/having a great season of SLMBA ball! I can’t stress how important it is to our association that we have strong board members in place to ensure we’re able to offer the fantastic programs you and your athlete are taking part in. We’ve been fortunate enough to have volunteers on our board who’ve made significant contributions to our association, community and youth. In no particular order, I’d like personally like to thank Brett Therriault, Melanie Campbell, Kelly Ulseth & Simon Pollock who are departing their board positions in January 2024. Their hard work and dedication to SLMBA will be missed.

That said, now is YOUR CHANCE to serve your community, help improve our association and most importantly, help grow our local youth’s love of ball! Now would be the perfect time for you to volunteer, as currently the positions below are filled but will be vacant in January 2024 so there’s time to shadow and learn from the person you’d be replacing.

We MUST fill the following positions before next year or some programs (from Rally Cap to 9U to Softball to Baseball) will suffer greatly and risk the chance of NOT being offered! Positions that need to be filled include:

Vice President
– Softball Rep Director
– Softball Community Director
– Diamond Coordinator
– Baseball Jersey Coordinator
– Softball Tournament Coordinator
– Baseball Tournament Coordinator

Besides the opportunity to give back, volunteering also comes with a LOT of fame & glory and with the added bonus of a free registration for your athlete after you’ve held the position for 1 year. I have included an org chart below for reference.

No prior board experience is required, as we value fresh perspectives and enthusiasm. All we ask is that you have a genuine interest in ball and a willingness to commit your time and efforts to our cause. We meet typically for 1-2hrs a month, 9-12 times a year depending upon what is needed. Task Team members only need to attend meetings as required. If you are interested in becoming a board member, please email me ([email protected]) or call/text me (587.337.6111). I would be happy to provide more information and answer any questions you may have about the different positions.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to join our board. Together we can make a significant difference in the lives of aspiring ball players and strengthen our ball community.

Yours In Sport,

Dave Darbel – President, SLMBA
